The Cycle Awareness Revolution Summit, powered by Period Reality, is a groundbreaking event aimed at fostering gender equity through menstrual wellness. This summit gathers women and male allies and serves as a platform to showcase the transformative potential of cycle awareness and its impact on women's lives, enhancing their ability to effectively perform in their various roles in society. Our first Summit has taken place in Nairobi, Kenya, June 21 2024 engaging stakeholders from the private and public sectors.

Our vision is to create a network of empowered communities that understand and embrace menstrual health, breaking down the stigma and barriers associated with it. The Cycle Awareness Summit is about laying the groundwork for ongoing education, advocacy and support. Through collaborative efforts, the summit seeks to raise awareness, form partnerships and advocate for systemic change in support of gender equity.

    Kenyan singer, songwriter, actress, radio & television personality.

  • Michael Kasosi Mako

    President of Maasai Mara Council. Where he leads in a dynamic programs of bringing a change in marginalized communities and also bringing education to be essential to every kid around this communities.

  • SenatoR Eddy Oketch

    Senator Eddy Oketch is a visionary business leader, fintech entrepreneur, and climate advocate. He founded Ongoza, an SME incubator, Anywair Group, a fintech provider of micro asset loans, and Treeco Fund which promotes agroforestry activities in rural areas.

  • DR. Elizabeth OdeRa

    Elizabeth initiated the Girl Power Clubs Africa program, a leadership initiative that empowers 860 girls across 26 schools in Kenya. Through sports and life-skills training, these girls learn to make positive decisions that impact their lives and communities.

  • Pauline Msungu

    Premier League football player. Runs a Community Based Organisation (Beyond Sport_Kenya) that works towards Advocating for and promoting gender equality in and through sports, with the aim of having a move inclusive community where both genders are treated equally regardless of their social status age,gender and or sexual orientation.

  • WinifRed Nakandi

    A seasoned advocate for dignified menstruation that aspires to achieve menstrual equity for all. She has been at the forefront of the "Pad Every Girl" campaign by Msichana Uganda, through which over 9,000 girls in Uganda have received reusable sanitary pads and menstrual hygiene education over the past three years.

  • Leah WaweRu-Chiira

    A dynamic professional with a passion for inclusivity and mentoring. She brings prior extensive experience in accelerator mentoring programs, startup communities and edtech. Before co-founding AT4D, she coordinated executive education at @iLabAfrica, fostering partnerships and educational development.

  • Jacqueline Kisato

    Jacqueline has worked for 10+ years in academia and is a principal investigator in several internationally funded projects seeking to enhance entrepreneurial success across different value chains. She is currently working on Biodegradable sanitary towel projects (Bio-pad & Bio-Paper), funded by the National Research Fund (Kenya) and Regional Scholarship Innovation Fund (RSIF-PASET).

  • AndRogenius Alpha

    A passionate advocate for the rights of gender and sexual minority groups in Kenya, serving as the Executive Director of Nadharia Community Based Organization (CBO). With a strong commitment to promoting equality and inclusion, Alpha leads Nadharia with a multifaceted approach to advocacy, which encompasses economic empowerment, human rights education, shelter provision, arts, and sports programming.

  • Camilla WiRseen

    After having secured 1 million EUR for an initial launch project in Kibera informal settlement in Nairobi she has been working on the ground and in the field all over Kenya and in several other countries in Sub Saharan Africa. Today she is focusing on creating awareness about her holistic methodology called Rafiki Support & Prevention Program for Adolescents together with four grassroot organisations in Kenya: Samba Sports in Kwale, Persons of Influence in Samburu, Amani Kibera in Nairobi and CYAN in Homabay.

  • GRace Wanene

    As the Founder and Team Lead of Drawing Dreams Initiative, she empowers adolescent youth in Laikipia, Isiolo, and Samburu with holistic education and timely reproductive health information. Previously honoured as Miss Tourism Laikipia County and Miss Earth Kenya Water Conservation Ambassador in 2016, Grace utilizes her platform to amplify vital causes, including environmental conservation and youth empowerment, leaving a lasting impact on her community.

  • Loice Ndungu

    “I am 40yrs and a mother of 2. I was diagnosed with thoracic endometriosis and adenomyosis in 2019 and that's after severally been treating pneumonia since I started periods at the age of 14. No doctor could figure out what I was suffering from. I have been on a particular prescription since 2019 for suppressing the condition, however, the chronic pain is with me every single day. I hope a solution is found for us who suffer from this condition.”

  • Nancy Akeyo Otieno

    Nancy Akeyo Otieno is the Founder & CEO of The Confidence Queen Mentorship Academy. She has worked within and led multidisciplinary and international teams, and worked across multiple sectors, including international and local non-governmental organizations. She has a vision to great impact with sustainable solution while empowering girls and young women to make informed choices and thrive with confidence.

  • PRofessoR Masibo Lumala

    Professor of Strategic Communication and Gender, and currently the Director of the Institute of Open and Distance E-Learning at Moi University. He is also the Chair, Digital Campus Committee at the University, a Member of the Board of Management for the Kenya Education Network (KENET) and recently appointed by the Ministry of Education as the Chairperson, Digital Education Technical Working Committee.

  • TeResa NjoRoge

    Founder & CEO of Clean Start, the first women by women for women social justice enterprise, empowering and transforming imprisoned and formerly imprisoned women in Kenya and Africa. After being falsely accused, maliciously prosecuted, and wrongly imprisoned with her then 3 months old daughter, Teresa servsd a sentence at Langata Women Maximum Prison. Her firsthand experience inspired her to commit her life purpose to supporting millions of women and children leaving prison to successfully reintegrate back to society.

  • BRidgit KuRgat

    A program and policy professional with a wealth of experience working with non-governmental organizations and county governments. She has worked in several development projects and her main career focus has been on public policy, project management, public-private partnership and gender mainstreaming.

  • Wanja Maina

    Hummingbird Grassroots Centre. Development communications professional with hands-on experience in protection and inclusivity programming particularly in the area of gender and disability integration.

  • ChRisteR Anditi

    A seasoned design researcher passionate about human-centred transformation. With a PhD in Public and development management, she focuses on inclusive, and gender-sensitive innovation processes to accelerate the adoption of interventions by interrogating social system complexities and supporting marginalised groups.

  • Peige Omondi

    A communications enthusiast working in the development space passionate about driving sustainable change. With a deep grasp of the East African development sector, experience of program execution and a commitment to strategic communication, I leverage it's power for multi-stakeholder engagement and showcasing philanthropy's impact on national growth.
